Better To Give, Than Take Away

The Anguish and infinite rage in her eyes pierced my soul
I knew I made a mistake I couldn't change, would I be forgiven, would she understand.
The sweat seemed to seep from the inner pores of my hands, while my heart ran a different pattern, traveled a different course
In my mind I knew it was over, please just don't utter the words, "divorce".
My words stuck in my throat, I was so sure I reached to grab my coat because the rope we once climbed together, had worn thin.
So thin there was only enough support for one, because the weight had grown to heavy to support 2, anymore.
She screamed I'm so tired I can't support you anymore, the enchanted happiness we once basked in had lost its essence.
The glow of love and admiration has lost its presence. The goo goo eyes, butterfly kisses, and smell of her favorite fragrance that became mine, dies just as the wilted flowers dissolving away to nothing on the counter top.
This has become our love, something that took her breath away, has now pushed her love away.
I can't catch my breath, laying on the kitchen floor debating if there's any purpose in life left. debating a suicide attempt that may grab her attention, if only for a minute, just to mention, without her I'm in prison. To try and remember every character of her face to give my conscious rest.
I'm being irrational, selfish, I want to let her go, to feel the same pain to move on even though, I don't want to I know it's best.
