Big Crown, Little Sky

All I see is bloodied feet
Discarded by the silky satin wounded sheets
Wondering beyond the thundering
Close the gap and claim defeat
Is this how the seas will part?
A massive, brooding solitary wave to start?
Dancing spryly
Gushing through the gated parks
Like a living work of art?
Welcome back home
Under a thousand feet of shifting loam
Where the spirits of your fallen friends
Are well and truly free to roam
Scattered piles, tired moans
Keep digging tracts through it
No coming back to it
Forceful little bouts of anger won’t excuse it
One among a million clans
Of weary, travelled men refuse it
Is this how the world will end?
Staring blankly
Waiting as the ground upends?
The sound suspends
Our vision slowly strains and bends?
Is this the path to our relapse?
Exasperated, shaking
Kneeling as the structure cracks?
Or overwhelmed and pining for our minds collapse?
