Today, you celebrate a birthday
Another year older and wiser, you're told
Reflecting on how the last one passed
You'd be wondering
what today's might hold
March of '22 must've felt
like the greatest gift
After all you went through that December
A scary, close call
and near brush with death
The worst fear you'd rather not remember
It's okay to recall both happy and sad
An array of memories, span the years
Same with the greetings I've written you
One was darn mean, caused a lot of tears
So today, as you blow out the candles
It's not about the year or the number
My hope is, more, that you realize
The blessing, is the gift of another
