Its been another year, another birthday since you left
Another tear that slides down my face as i reminisce in the memories
In the celebrations of getting older of getting wiser
The fun we had in the silly traditions and decorations
The last birthday you had without me for distance reasons
You left too early, still young and in your youth
Now as your birthday comes and goes
Your age grows older and wiser while your still the same
The years climb higher, I'm getting older
You're still young, still the age you left us as
Celebrating a birthday is joyous and fun
But i can only feel nostalgic as you can no longer celebrate to
You can no longer grow older and wiser with me
Such a bittersweet moment when you have such joy to celebrate a time that'll forever standstill in your world
A world i can no longer be apart of as time keeps moving the world keeps spinning
While you're just sitting in the past, in the thousands of memories of then
When all was sunshine and rainbows, happy and carefree
The bliss of when here and now was comforting
I find that while your world stands still compared to mines, it's still moving in a different way
Knowing that you are just you without the pain, without the heartache of the world
Makes this new year, this new month, and this one special day without you worth the bittersweet feeling that consumes me
And even though you'll never grow old in your world and you're stuck in the memories of the past in mine
I wish you a happy birthday, no matter how bittersweet it is
