For generations and decades,
Black was looked at as shameful,
A race of degenerates who harbor no knowledge,
Yet today we're some of the most creative
And influential people of the world,
For black is not sad,
Black is power,
Power to generate and inspire
A countless amount of others,
Striving to be the next entrepreneurs,
Further advancing the progress we've made,
To heads of industry from slaves
Powerful speakers,
Non violent leader,
Articulate and well spoken individuals,
Who speak our truth and pain through words
For black is not sad,
Black is poetry,
Our stories told through our eyes,
Black is poetry in motion.
