Black like me
think you got me all figured out because I look a certain way but I leave you guessing as sure as night turns into day There She Goes Again being articulate and refined then you just knew for sure that I was deaf dumb and blind but the truth of the matter is that I am one of a kind you can't put me in a box or Define me by the color of my skin and if ignorance has relatives you must be its next of kin your shortsightedness and envy are no match for my wit it's like you're addicted to stupidity and you need AA to quit I am a woman of culture intelligence and compassion and my love of God are just a few things that I nurture I give birth every day to a new spirit and a greater love for all man time but to you I'm just someone who doesn't know her head from her behind I am a Healer by Nature true to my heart and you remain perplexed because you declare me finished when I have yet to start my level of comprehension expands beyond anything you could ever imagine you attempt to analyze me with your 4 syllable words using adjectives when you should be using verbs actions always speak louder than words I could curse you out I'll come at you with angry fist but I'm really not down with that ghetto s*** if I come at you it will be Sublime like you can't see the win but you know it's there because you can hear the wind chimes what you see on the outside is a mere fraction of who I am on the inside and all that I am destined to bee has allowed me to leap over stereotypes and Boundary set to inhibit me from growth and stifle my diligence it's like trying to make orange juice from apples it makes no sense you conclude that I worship material things because of all of the clothes and shoes you see me wear from day to day but they do suit me well if I must say and if you don't like it there's this place you can go called hell it really isn't about my clothes my car the length of my skirt are here not about my job my bank account or with whom I choose to be it's about making choices and I choose to be black like me
