A contract lays before you

A signature is all you need,
You're written up for violating your lease
Thinking this just cannot fly
So many rules you foolishly missed
You scratch your head why,

Now a lawyer contacts you
Inviting you to the courtroom dance,
Now there's Covid 19 lays ahead
You skim how rent you don't have to pay
You really should have read closely
Now soon you could rue the day,
You received your monthly income
Your stimulus payment,too
So you'll go on a spending spree
The devil to pay is ahead of you.
The law says if you can prove
That little to no money you hold
Then you can't be evicted
This summer hold on to your gold,
If the court sees you've money
Then eviction you will face
All that your greed and lying gets one
Is a long hard look for a new place,
Whether it's a long document
Whether it's your Good Book
Read well before you commit
