We didn’t lose our minds,
We placed them on loan,
Traded silence for answers
And called it our own.
Thinking was friction,
Now friction is pain,
So we ask the machine
To explain what remains.
Questions don’t linger,
They queue and get fed,
Certainty arrives
Where doubt should have bled.
A thought without effort
Feels polished, feels clean,
But wisdom was never
Built quick or routine.
The danger ain’t metal,
Or wires that speak,
It’s humans growing fluent
In staying weak.
A mind left unused
Doesn’t shatter or snap,
It sleeps in convenience,
Coded, perhaps.
And one day we’ll ask,
With our voices all calm:
“When did we stop thinking
And start being programmed?”
