The shattered remains of a fragile one,
The salt in the wound that may never heal,
The emptiness of a forsaken deal.
Memories of days once shared together,
A solemn promise never more to gather.
A love that just can’t understand,
Any hope of trusting man.
The sweetest lie of all betrayed,
A sham of truth stayed dismayed.
A faith that now had gone to waste,
Misleading words have taken their place.
A lesson learned and a bitter taste,
The irony of life left to trace.
Guarded heart with a closed mind,
Nothing will bring these to bind.
