My love was your speakeasy's take on the prohibition.
All the rules were there you just didn't listen.
You were so caught up in trying to tame a much seasoned vixen.
I was determined to change the guy who refused to listen.
Not knowing our toxins later would create some distance.
But we went with it.
Because it was dressed in all the perfect fixin's.
That would later do nothing more but leave us both just wishing.
Because at that point we'd want it to be different.
But the reality would settle.
And we both end up regretting the time that we were rebels.
Not listening to the rules created to keep us at neutral levels.
All for the chase.
Just to tell the world to F off while we shoved it in their face.
As we danced off beat to a promiscuous heat.
That would later be both of our defeat.
Even when though so easily we'd speak.
On a time we almost reached our peak.
But didn't quite make it.
All rules were meant to be broken that's why we didn't fake it.
Even if our intentions got off course.
We never left the rebellious source.
That burned in us both.
But we did get lost landing us both on different coasts.
And still while doing the most.
We both went within.
And found a way to just pretend.
That it didn't faze us.
All the while moving different.
Because pain has a way to change us.
