But alas... this too has passed

His eyes deceived him
The ways they had taught him misled him
He missed a shooting star
As enthralling as a meteor shower
He rose from his seat in firm conviction
He that giveth gave him a sign
Too set was he in his ways to hear
So now the blinders are shut
That which he sought often comes unexpectedly
Wrapped in a package least recognized
The hills he climbs weep for him
The ocean that calms him
Mourns for it knows his heart well
But alas... this too has passed
If only they could speak a language known to his ears
Caution, a word for the wise would be rendered
But alas... this too has passed.
