D

But Nor Do I.

The sun falls upon the cold kitchen floor,
From the window by the sink you always stood before,
The room filled pitch black with emotion,
Or the lack of it.
I did not know what words to utter,
Can’t you see I know not what to say dear mother.
Teary eyed and numb,
Hesitating to speak and awaiting a reply I so desperately deemed.
You walk slowly to the kitchen table,
I stare with eyes of red,
Red enough for you to stare at,
Not colourful enough for me to explain.
You gaze, glare and contemplate,
You ask me to help you understand,
Dear mother, I myself do not understand.
