By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Beneath the gates of heaven, I wait
A lifetime spent falling for the wrong bait
Good-hearted, but not so clever
Fooled time and time again, forever
The rules are golden, tried and true
But somehow, they always fall through
My eyes undotted, my tees un-crossed
Dogs and children loved, a war's cost
I search for pie in the sky
Wondering if a God can tell me why
Or if getting high is the only escape
From a life where I cannot reshape
Heaven calls, my fort to be won
But the Devil lures, a temptation begun
Good deeds and shortcuts to demand
From the underworld's fiery land
Waiting for my fate to be sealed
In life, there's nothing more to yield
Sitting by heaven's gate
For an eternity to wait.
