I don't like the C word
It's ugly
It shows up
When you least expect it
Once it is said to someone
It feels like a death sentence
Oh many have fought
The c word
And won
But many lose their life
To this horrible disease
It starts small then
Spreads like a wildfire
Detecting it early
Is the key
The first stage of the battle
Oh the stages will come
Radiation
Loss of appetite
Pills, radiation
Did you know
There is a cure already
But then pharma
Would lose billions if the word got out
My cousin is so young
Just found out today
He will start this battle with
The big C
He just became a father
My heart breaks
For the battle that lies ahead of him
I'm gonna be there for him
Praying
Believing he will make it
The c world is a big c
It's too ugly to say
