cherry pickin time

Cherry picking time, they said with greed
Their eyes were beady, hearts naive
But the good intended in their hearts was not what they did see
They saw what they wanted and chose that bit, greedily
Forgotten 'tween the good and bad lies a truth of nothing sweet
To leave folk eternally ruled yet free themselves? Such a feat
That the church stays comfortable, the message twisted and neat
Never once addressing the moral wrong, nor speaking of its sleet
How could one so holy, be so low as to soothe and deceive
Ignoring the fact that we shall all one day enslave and retrieve
Let us break away from such slavery, and find greener meadows to reprieve
For the truth written in our fate, should be how to set ourselves free.
