Childbirth

It all starts with a moment of intimacy.
That leaves the blood pressure racing.
In the process a transfer takes place.
Symptoms begin to show in a dozen days.
Gradually the belly begins to rise.
Watch your diet Lady; talk of paying the price.
As the foetus forms, she feels it kick.
It gets ugly at times that it makes her sick.
Strenous activites are waved.
The proper care for the baby is made.
Months go by and the belly gets big.
Her hubby shows impatience as he waits for his kid.
This Monday after watching the telly.
He goes to bed as he kisses his wife's belly.
A scream jolts him up in the middle of the night.
She can't walk so he carries her with all his might.
The child comes now the father can't believe.
They stretch the Hospital card, he forgets to receive.
She's wheeled in as the doctors get to work.
Her spouse crosses his fingers as he wishes for luck.
Panic strikes him as the doctor comes out.
As the news gets spilled, open stays his mouth.
Tears roll down his cheeks as he gently goes in.
He lifts up his son and kisses him.
The beautiful smile and the warm gaze.
The mother bestows on her baby's face.
Oh her joy rises beyond the skies.
As she gently swings her baby and cries.
A day after, she's discharged to go home.
"Thank God", she says in a relaxed tone.
Little one, how about we call you Malcolm.
Welcome home son, welcome.
