Childhood

Childhood's garden, full of wonder and gleeA time of innocence, wild and free..A season of discovery, of dreams and of play..Where imagination knows no bounds, every single day..Memories of laughter, of tears and of funOf days that seemed endless, beneath the bright sunOf nights that shone bright, with stars up above
A time of magic, a time of endless love, We chased butterflies, and danced in the rain, We made mud pies, and played with sticks and stones again..We told stories, and made up games to play..We lived in the moment, without a care or dismayWe were wildflowers, growing free and tall, Unfettered by worries, untainted by them all
Our hearts were pure, our souls were bright, We shone like stars, on a clear and cloudless nightWe were explorers, venturing into the unknown, We were dreamers, with hearts that were made to roamWe were artists, with crayons and paint and play
We created worlds, in our own special way We were loved, we were cherished, we were adored, We were the center, of our families' universe, and moreWe were the sparkles, in our parents' eyes..We were the reason, for their joy and their sighs, But childhood's garden, is a fleeting place
A brief and shining moment, in the vastness of spaceIt's a time of wonder, a time of gleeBut it's also a time, that's meant to be free, So let us cherish, these early years, Let us nurture, and wipe away our tears
Let us give our children, the gift of playLet us let them be, and seize the day, For childhood's magic, is a precious thing
A treasure to behold, a wonder to bringIt's a time of innocence, a time of grace, A time to be savored, a time to embrace.
