Houses passing by, the twinkling lights in my eyes, the nativity scene as people crowd around to see the baby in the manger.
The perfect placement of ornaments after the christmas light fight to untangle the mess, "oh what a sight."
Sitting around the finished christmas tree, the room dark, the tree lit up beautiful and bright.
Siblings and I sneaking under the tree shaking the presents and wondering what they could be.
Our parents smile as our wishes come true and us never fully understanding all they did to make our dreams a reality.
With our bellies full of casserole and all the gifts opened, we sat back and enjoy the company of our grandparents who came every year to bring us joy and cheer.
Then comes the dinner at my aunt and uncles house, Walking in seeing the neatly decorated trees, the beautiful displays, the neat gift holders hanging from the tree, and the search for our name, the fun of the search and the excitement when our name was found. Then came the celebration of family. Eating, laughing, and gift giving, and a room full of love in honor of my Lord above.
Christmas is not just a birthday celebration, its celebrating the gifts Christ has given us, the blessings of his son, and the love of our family and friends, and the timeless christmas memories of old that will forever stay in our hearts for a lifetime.
