cities are beautiful
in the way that
skyscrapers grow like trees
reaching for the stars
that are covered in smog
and the lights from cars
twinkle instead
cities are beautiful
in the way that
litter sprouts like plants
growing colourfull flowers
that are suffocated in rushed crowds
and the neon signs
bring colour instead
cities are beautifully blooming
but the cities are dead.
