Closure

You
force yourself frantic to forget, you
know that forgetting means
peace –in your head that yearns for
order– through your soul whom craves
nothing, but new.
New–
that entity you think you are when you
drink–to forget.
Like when you seek new hobbies
to temporarily sedate your senses
like a massage that disguises.
Everything seemed calmer before
that moment
that occurrence
that you need to forget.
So you attempt writing–writing for closure–
you write about how to forget.
Until you realize
the only way to forget
is to not think about how to forget.
Because then you will remember
everything–
everything you thought you forgot.
