I once saw a huge building and stood there amazed
My feet planted as I couldn't avert my gaze
This building looked back at me and opened its doors
So I could wander through all its floors
Once I stood in the hall unknown to the gloom
I started wandering and opened every room
In every room I found something different
In one a rose in another something belligerent
Throughout my journey I felt a lot of emotions
Sometimes I just stood there holding my heart
Refusing to let go of my notions
Refusing to accept that I had to restart
I couldn't brace myself for the fall
Laying down on the cold hard floor I was appalled
The floor was swept away from under me
The building didn't think therefore it couldn't be
It appeared again and opened its doors like the first time
This time I stood in the hall I heard a chime
Unbeknownst as to why
It sent shivers down my spine
I entered the same rooms as if I were reborn
In one a rose with thorns and the other was war torn
I leapt up the staircase afraid of falling in pain
With every step hurting myself as if I was chained
I was going way too fast for my own gain
For those chains were nothing but growing pains
Once I reached the highest floor
There was no room and thus no door
I looked around confused
All my energy used
Struggling to stand
Another step was the only option at hand
The only thing I saw was a narrow hallway ahead
If I go through this it'll be worthwhile I bet
One step after another, feet sore
This hallway seems endless
I don't think I can go anymore
At this point my body is senseless
Yet I keep pressing further without remorse
Yearning to find out why that chime send shivers down my spine
I don't feel like giving up just yet
I heard my subconscious after a long time
"I think you do. I'm willing to bet."
