Confined
Inside a cage a songbird will sing, even though it can’t use it wings.
The sun reminds it of what it is like to be free and fly, hoping its wings will take it to get lost in the sky.
But the cage cast shadows across its crown. So it sings even louder hoping to be found.
Other song birds sing as they fly over a knoll so it stretches its wings wishing it could go.
But the sun fades and they all fly away. So it stops singing and silence the day.
The day turns black and it feels all is gone. So it perches for the night waiting for dawn.
