🌸 The Palette of Spring
The winter's long vigil has finally ceased,
And earth dons a gown for the vernal feast.
A whispered command from the sun in the sky,
Unfurling a spectrum that catches the eye.
It starts with the Yellow, a radiant spark,
From daffodils shouting, escaping the dark.
The bright forsythia, a golden cascade,
The sunshine spilled over in woodland and glade.
Then comes the soft Green, the most vital hue,
Of tender new blades soaking up the dew.
The lime of the willow, the emerald sheen,
A blanket of life where the grey had once been.
The Pink makes its entrance, a delicate blush,
On cherry tree blossoms, a heavenly rush.
The fragile magenta of small budding things,
The gentle embrace that the warm weather brings.
A flash of bold Violet, where crocuses rise,
Reflecting the depth of the clear morning skies.
The lilac's sweet fragrance, in purple attire,
A mystical shadow that fuels the spring fire.
And finally White, for the dogwood's pure star,
And pear trees in bloom, seen from near and from far.
A clean, crisp beginning, a slate washed anew,
In colors that promise and dreams that come true.
