could've bid goodbye

now she comes a thousand miles away from home,
she perceives she could've bid goodbye,
goodbye to her dying mother,
goodbye to her home,
goodbye to her identity.
she sits there in a compartment,
helpless,
lost in thoughts,
hopeless after all,
that she could've bid goodbye.
weeping, in the name of her dead mother,
blames herself for the thousandth time again.
as she realises she could've bid goodbye.
wishing for time to reverse now, hoping her dead mother to be alive,
she was ready to give up anything, for her to bid goodbye.
recalls the pleadings of her mother who spake,"come home deary, come back home to me, thy mother shall not rest in peace therein"
weeps in regret again.
"I'm sorry mother, I need you now, I want to come back home but the shame and regret your own blood holds, regrets it all again."
that is all she has left to speak,
as depressed she beats her chest,
therein she sits back in a compartment,
helpless,
hopeless,
that she could've bid goodbye,
oh she should have bid goodbye.
