Gone is the world we lived in
newly introduced is the world of covid-19
where death now becomes a sudden thing
dozens of lives lost due to this disease
young and old
weak and strong
wealthy and poor
it matters not
it takes whoever it sees fits
its hunger it's like cravings of a pregnant woman
always willing to devour a human
so wicked and inhuman
not a chance to prepare are we given
the moment we mellow out
another wave comes from nowhere
we're now captives of own world
with nowhere to run to
and no hope to subdue
alternatives are tried but none works
everyday this disease gets worse
conducted are the tests
our lives are put to test
gone are our loved ones
shaken are the sick ones
petrified of death
as it can strike anytime
