Crown

I try to be me,
but they tell me to stop.
why can't they see,
that I choose my personality not.
I didn't choose my smile,
I didn't choose my laugh.
It's been a while,
since anyone has smiled back.
Nobody can see me,
for who I truly am.
I am just some tea,
for their conversation.
It's probably typical,
for you to hear me talking about my pain.
Very whimsical,
and very lame.
But that's why I'm here,
why I'm finally speaking.
So someone might hear,
because I'm finally breaking.
I'm falling apart,
to the abyss I go.
The water is tart,
and I don't know how to row.
I don't know how to paddle,
I've forgotten how to swim.
I have nothing to straddle,
with my tired limbs.
Please will someone hear me,
please will someone help.
But they always leave,
as I let out a yelp.
This isn't how I wanted to go,
I don't want to drown.
But no one cares to show.
For I don't have a crown.
