Crushing Candy
She took my heart and crushed it,
Like lemon drops or warheads it turned sour.
I was lost inside a world of darkness,
Which grew darker by the hour.
Every waking memory a reminder,
Of a love I'd never find again.
Every thought of her destroyed my will,
In a battle I was destined not to win.
Now with each ticking second,
On this clock that has become my life.
I am painfully reminded,
Of the loss of her; my wife.
But how could I have known this,
How could I have beaten fate?
Now living in a hell eternal,
In a prison I had helped create.
Look at me now and study,
The fool that which I have become.
The jester of this hell and foolish,
This my life to which I've succumbed.
