Love conquers all, or so all believed;
If that is so, why world do grieve?
For hugs and kisses won't let you live;
Social gatherings mean grief and grave!
The virus, now pandemic;
Contagious it is, and poses death,
Think, Mankind, haste! Be quick!
Won't we be late, and all extinct!
Love can be deceitful, be not lured!
(Not that I mean, bring forth discord!)
Romance has no room at this period!
To love's to let go, know that you should!
Watch heroes fall in broad daylight!
Nations perish just overnight!
Mankind's slaughtered! But who's to blame?
For COVID's ferocious and untamed!
Let go of her cottony hands;
Avoid his heavenly kisses,
Cancel those romantic dates;
Distance! Resist all her embraces!
Remember those gallant front liners,
Whose lives they put half on grave,
Care to commit but no mistake,
Trust, soon we'll all outwit this pandemic!
I am no philophobic (if that's what you think)
But scribbled this did I, that you can think!
Of romance and survival, which has more weight?
This, I propose, is the unromantic cure of pandemic.
