There are moments when
it feels like an eternity has
passed since we last saw
your radiant smile,
and then there are other
times when it seems like
it was just yesterday when
we spoke to you.
There are moments when I have this inexplicable
feeling that you will return,
that your absence is just
a temporary phase.
But when Christmas arrives
and you are not here with us,
I realize how wrong I was to
hold on to such a thought.
Despite this absence,
we still decorate the Christmas
tree with the utmost care,
adorning it with the brightest
lights and placing a shining
star on the top,
all in the hope that it can convey the love we hold in our hearts for you.
