India is a beautiful country with diverse culture, diverse people and diverse beasts.
During the day, the warm sunlight cheerfully embraces everything and everyone bringing peace and security in everyone's hearts. One can see people hurrying to their respective workplaces, women moving around freely with nobody to stop them. There are children running and laughing on the streets.
During the night, the darkness looms over filling every heart with dread and fear of the unknown. Unlike the day, not many people are seen walking around, the children having been taken home by their chiding mothers at dusk. The few people that are moving around, walk slowly looking down and holding on to their belongings tightly for fear of the hungry wolves that wait in the darkness to catch hold of people's valuables. The night is the witness to the nocturnal monsters that wait for the last ray of sunlight to disappear along with all the hope that it brought during the day.
Owls from afar hoot at young women who dare to walk out of their homes at night. However, owls are not the only nocturnal beings here. In the very streets where kids joyfully played during the day, hyenas now lurk in packs screeching and laughing at every girl who passes by, ready to pounce at her any second now. Their eyes glistening with lust, they then devour the helpless girl's body to her very soul. She doesn't scream for help because she has now accepted, although unwillingly, her inevitable and sad fate. The monsters leave the poor girl, after ruthlessly tearing apart her world, to die slowly, bound in the shackles of her own dignity.
The girl opens her eyes to the first rays of sunlight falling on her. Its warmth that she previously enjoyed every morning, she now detests for now in the dark light of the sun some blame her, some humiliate her and some sympathize with her for what happened. She wishes to burn to ashes under the sun and be blown away by the wind to a place where she's not constantly reminded of what she's gone through. Her nakedness is publicised for the entire nation to witness. One can see many speaking of feminism and justice in the country
Sadly, she is the only one who sees the silence in her nation.
