Daylight

Daylight savings time
Once a year we turn them ahead
In the spring we jump one hour
And once a year we turn them back
In the fall go back on the time counter
Daylight savings time they call it
More sunlight time for us to work
Which makes the sunset very late
For some in summer it's a perk
The sun shines bright just past nine
Then rises a short time later again
More time we have to push the broom
Making the fat cats more and more yen
Autumn comes along and we turn it back
Losing that hour we had just gained
Days are shorter which means less sun
That means somebody will complain
Let's just go up a half hour only
Keep it that way all of the time
Sunset would be before nine in summer
Winter jobs gain a half hour so that's fine
