I say Dad, even though it's unfamiliar to me,
But that's what you are in reality.
I'm writing to express what it is I want say,
Because every time I tried to ring my tears got in the way.
I wanted to tell you, I forgive you for not being there
And how I wished I could've experienced you throughout my years.
Some may think, I'm a fool, for loving a man I didn't know,
But if they understand emotions, they would understand how our energy flow.
They would never question it
And see what it does, by watching the ripple effects of it.
You see, the blood that flows through you.
It goes through me too
And that is enough to say why I'm feeling the way I do.
There's so much we needed to say and do,
But I guess time is the master and the master has other plans,
Which for him it's strategic and sometimes crucial.
Where he'll give us longevity and sometimes a short life span.
I know we're not the key holders of our lives, so I dare not think about the what ifs and the what could have been.
I just think about the now and this labyrinth I'm walking in.
I'm glad we got to speak, even though there's so much still unsaid,
But know that I love you and that love captures me instead.
I never thought I'd be this emotional at all,
But it has given me clarity, somewhat a total recall.
Let me end this by saying, what's done is done and we can't revert to the past,
So let's just think about our love, laughter and how long this life will last!
