Dear home
What's it like being alone
No one to clean your windows, your carpet
Your yard
Has it been peaceful
Or has the thought of being abandoned
Peeled your paint and cracked your tiles in the misery and pain of not being wanted
Dear home
How you been
It's been a month now, and no one has moved in
It looks like you are a bit under stress
Have the kids been throwing rocks at your glass
Are you upset with the rumors of a ghost
Living inside you
Do you hear the whispers of regret about the things that have happened to you
Inside you
Dear home
Gosh, it's been ages
Oh, you are falling apart
That's not a good look
But what can you do
The weeds have grown
And your doors are thrown
Away into the yard
But look on the bright side
I hope there's a bright side
Dear rubble
Oh, you've been torn down
There's nothing left
Not even your roof crown
As it so happens
We get like that too
We, humans, are so alike
And I still wonder
Would that be me
Would I, too, be rubble
If I had done it that day
Would I be worm food
Would I be dirt
Would all that you could remember me by are photos
And a cement plaque
Saying here lies
Here lays
Here stays someone who gave up
Someone too weak
Someone too strong
To do it
But no
I chose to live as you should have done
Dear home
I hope you are doing well
Please send my regards to...
