Dear Mathematics,

You've taught me a lot,
Like how to build stairs,
You've taught me your laws,
Even when at you I just stared . . .
Yet you're a thorn in my brain,
At times very helpful,
At times a long black train.
I know you're from God and not the devil,
But I do wish you were more plain,
And just slightly more simple.
If you could help me understand,
I would thank you very much,
If you'll reveal your complex plan,
Maybe you wouldn't be so hard to touch.
. . .
