Death, Just A Word ... Or... New Odds Please!!!
The last time I went to a viewing,
Before I and Five carried the body away,
There was much weeping moaning
Which I found very "overwhelming" annoying
For I saw only joy in the passing of "Lee, Sr."
He had just gone back to work from "Health Issues"
When a slip and fall caused a rib injury...
He went to the ER in the City over the tracks
(I did not know any of this as I was helping
My brother-in-law dig from a financial pitfall)
I stood suddenly caught my breath then
Like nought happen??? Return to my task)...
It was at the moment I caught my breath, 14:00...
That my Father-in-Law made a sudden release
Of his... He had hit an emotional wall...
A spot on his lung told the story asbestos
Poisonous dust and of the death in brings
He had cancer, "But, with treatment you'll have
A icecubes chance between the ass cheeks
Of the Devil in hell for survival... 1 in WTF!!!""
The family, His Family" all planned out our days
So he'd always have a shoulder to lean on
This usually came to me as I can talk alot AND
Most importantly, I can listen just as vigorously...
I became his "Wheelman" he went to no
Appointment without me in the same room
As he went through the pain that Chemo brought...
One day he was in pain, Mom's was shopping
So I did what I've always been able to do
I absorbed enough of his pain to make it easier
For him to manage with less medication...
ERGO: Why I went to every Chemo session
Dr. learned fast that I was to be or he would not...
Lee was a fantastic father-in-law, Pops to me,
As Grandpa??? Over the top... So he worry...
I had lost the man who raised me, my step dad
The year before and told him how I explained
Where the 2nd part of PePe' had gone to...
I told them, "From the day PePe' was born
Unto the time his body gave in to illness
He did something and therefore left us
Something... His Exhales... Just like the
Creator left a prophets Exhalations for us...
The viewing I went to I looked not like others
Tan sport, light pink shirt, brand new workboots,
Black jeans and of course my Black Stetson...
I was, as I said earlier, happy... even joyous...
It wasn't because his pain and suffering
Had, after 75days had finally come to end...
People asked my Mother-in-Law aka Mom's
Why I was dressed as I was and not miserable
(You know, the Weepalots) she said, Ask him
They declined... They double freaked when my
three girls left "Grandpa his Christmas presents
So he'd have them when he "Woke back up"...
I avoid funerals for I prefer to not think of
One as dead... To me they've taken on a
Life after death life form... suitable for stomping...
You see when I faced cancer I feared not
When I went through chemo, I hurt little
For through Lee I had felt the fear and pain
Can bring upon you without mercy...
You see with Cancer I do not believe in "odds"
When he told me the odds they gave him???
"So, an ice cubes chance between the Devils
Ass cheeks in Hell??? 1 in WTF!!!
(1 in WTF is 1 in What the Fu*k!!! In otherwords
Bull Shit Odds...)
When 2nd chemo Dr told me that??? I said
You feeling that to your bottom, he was sitting
He said yes, I'm sure your survival chances are
1 in 10... He got miffed when I offered to use
My size 10 1/2 triple E wide to kick it back to his
brain for further '"Consultation'"...
I had a new Dr after I explained to the shrink my
Threat!!??!!?? I said I did not threaten... I merely
Made as offer that would allow him to further
consult with his brain my survival chances...
Everyone in Continuous Confusion laughed for
They heard no threat in my question... New Dr...

PS... My workboots paid off for the day of the
burial was an icy one and my "foolish" footwear
kept me sure footed enough so the casket hit
nought the ground... A the Memory Lunch my
Mom's bragged on my foresight and my boots..
