Deceitful eye, why do you see
Only the worst parts of me
The mirror snickers, gossips, roars
Shows me everything which I abhor
You enlarge my flaws, emphasize my sin
Sew tighter all the clothes I'm in
Each roll and ripple multiplies
I grow and gain right before my eyes
But beauty is not in flawless skin
A trim, thin waist or a chiseled chin
Beauty is in action, in words, in grace
Beauty in being kind, truthful and chaste
Oh eye, you only see the worlds delusion
Brutal vanity has caused you confusion
I am beautiful in my way, in each way I try
Try to be ever loving, helpful and kind
I am beautiful in my way, in each way I defy
Defy the beauty standards of an unloving eye
