As I wake,
I noticed and find,
Depression has rooted,
Deep in my mind.
It's hard to explain,
It's effect on my life,
But I'll give it a shot,
Putting my bitching aside.
Something it does,
It puts a pain in my heart,
The kind that you feel,
When lovers find they're apart!
You could call it "loss",
But does it really matter?
With a heart that's in pain,
No kind words seem to flatter.
That, plus the fact,
That my body's so heavy,
I want to go outside,
But my depression won't let me.
My emotions are a wreck,
And the light hurts my eyes,
I've spent days in my bed,
Wishing the whole time, I'd die.
Now, the pain in my chest,
Has spread to my mind,
Poisoning all thoughts,
Just like the last few lines.
I hate myself,
For feeling this way,
Seems to last forever,
Happening every other day.
I can't control when it comes,
Can't control when it leaves,
I can only hold on for dear life,
God help me!, pretty please!
So, I look in the mirror,
I can finally move,
I'm sickly pale and bones,
And I'm really confused.
"Who the hell is this?"
That I've become over time,
No hunger to eat,
I'm naught but skin and a spine.
And hollowed out orbs,
That once were my eyes,
Now black and sunk in,
I'm ashamed, so I hide.
I pray it will quit,
Leave my body for good,
Stop poisoning my mind,
I'd break free, if I could.
Run far away,
From this debilitating curse,
That seeps deep in my mind,
My body, this verse.
But I still see a spark,
Deep within my eyes,
I still have hope,
Of some day going outside.
When it finally releases,
It's hold on my being,
Once again, I'm able to smile,
And even start eating.
I'm back!, Well,my mind is,
At least there's that much,
It's been awhile, that's plain,
I've spent weeks out of touch.
But this curse won't leave me,
No matter how hard I try,
So, I cross my fingers and hope,
And pray next time I don't die!
The End.
