DEHING PATKAI

In those deep reaches of the valley
Thrives an artisan weaving,
A tale of conjecture of many living together in tranquility;
Aloof to the sordid viralities.
A tale of the sturdy pillars of the oak,
Providing shade in the scorching heat of the noon;
The murmers of the leaves,
The soft cottony green bed of the Mosses,
And the exquisite wild assortment of orchids,
Bringing a sweet smell with the cool summer breeze.
It is a tale where the Mighty weilds his trunk,
And the wild frolic around unheeded in the sun;
A tale where our feathered friends
flock together for a ballad,
Whose Melody acts as a soothing balm for the fiery fiend.
Such a tale though hard to believe,
Does exist in reality,
Dehing Patkai is it's name,
But mostly called the Amazon of the East.
An amalgation of a variety of Flora and fauna,
A heavenly abode untouched by the pandemic Corona.
A sprawling tropical rainforest,
Renowned for being a Elephant reserve:
Home to both the weak and strong it serves.
Flying foxes to sambers,
Gaurs to barking deers,
Chinese pangolins and Malaysian squirels Some more addition to the lair,
Such a beauty, hard to behold
Pristine and untouched like a new bloom that enfolds.
But we the mankind,
Cruelest of all;
Must exploit everything and leave none at all.
Razed down forests, chopped down trees,
Filled up swamps with uncanny glee.
Now this evil's gaze has turned,
To this wonderland,
For their own personal gain,
To scavenge for more gold to retain.
Coal mining is what it looks on the front,
But dont we realise that the forest will have to face the brunt,
A disruption to the ecosystem will lead to
A loss of habitat for the animals,
Threatening their lives and endangering many.
We talk big about preservation of the environment,
But where does our courage run off to in a situation such important??
So, let's make a promise to come together,
And fight for this paradise,
Saving their homes and their lives,
And also saving it from becoming like the Aarey of Mumbai.
"STOP COAL MINING, SAVE DEHING PATKAI"
is all we bellow,
Our thunderous voices will surely strike a hard blow.
Together we stand, together we march
For our environment that is dear to all of us.
We all can play a role in many different ways,
And even the smallest will help us sway,
The authorities at the crown
Executing this without a frown.
So, please share this video as much as you can,
And make it reach the ears of our Government.
