You came into my life when I needed a friend,
Right on time.
Gave me a shoulder to lean on.
I opened up to you,
Drained your energy with my hassles,
But still, you remained forthcoming.
In case I didn’t thank you,
Am sorry,
I candidly appreciate.
Finding out that,
You were a wolf in sheep’s clothing,
Was a slap in the face for me.
You invaded my territory.
Took away all my resources,
Gathered an army and,
Attacked my people.
Trust is a rare gem,
and mine to you is lost.
You knocked me down, crushed my heart into pieces,
But with hope for a better future,
I got up, dusted myself, mend my heart, and,
Moved on.
I learnt from the best,
And this is life, sometimes we get hurt.
