DEPENDENCE DAY

A day we ought not to celebrate
But reflect on the drowning condition of the state
A day we should crown love above hate
Dependence Day, a memorable date
When citizens handed the national plate
Now some are dining alone while the rest are in a wallowing state
The white man left only on the signed paper
While still remoting the state through the state skyscraper
Makes us think we are ruling the country alone
But in reality, our rulers are creeping under their throne
On this day the three-colored flag was mounted high
The awry freedom document signed and handed national bly
There they sowed the tree of an endless cry
Since then we've walked to nowhere not even a mile
Rulers ruling with the sight of greed
Were we even freed?
Over sixty years of misdirected leads
A rich old woman still wailing for her basic needs
Instead, our national treasures be of our pleasure
They are now our heart-bleeding razors
We live with them in total poverty beyond measure
Masses are left to creep on the failed razor
How can you convince me that this land was freed?
When livers are starving with no food to feed
Giant promises with dwarf let there be.
