Desperate for a Change

Where desperation clings to our hearts,
We yearn for a change,a brand new start.
A world safer, a place of peace,
Where bloodshed and suffering cease
As a child, I recall laughter and cheer,
Adults sharing stories, children spreading joy here and there
Now replaced with sorrow, pain, and fear,
Is this what our future is all about?
We plea for an end to crime and poverty,
Yet, the innocent lives taken in increase quantity.
Our world that once shine so bright,
Now cloaked in acts of spite.
It breaks my heart, to hear the cries of our children's
A deep sound of fear that settles in their small hearts thats no lie.
Witnessing parents perish in a blink of and eye,
Leaves them on a sorrowful journey that will traumatize them for life.
Parents terrified, with their children gone,
Missing without a trace, a hurtful reality they have to face.
With hearts heavy with sorrow and pain,
Hoping one day they'll return, breaking the chain.
Living by faith, is easier said than done,
We are desperately in need of a change, as terror has become our daily routine
For our world, it seems, is now coming to its end,
A change we need, a world to mend.
