The farm was far more appealing than school
The crops are all in now so Scrumpy for all
Village to village on the old school bus
8 miles took 45 minutes for us
The Winkleigh slaughter-house 2 miles away
Unbearable stench on a Summer day
Camping on Dartmoor but not in the snow
For survival that's where soldiers would go
A World War 2 airfield with Control tower too
20 years after Spitfires and Aces few
On our land we found bits of war plane
Respect for the pilots today still remain
5 pounds each with 2 of my mates
Bought us a car no tax no plates
Ford Popular for 15 quid
Drove it round the fields that's what we did
