I couldn't sleep, so I wrote a little poem ;)
Were things different to you when I was by your side?
Did the world smoothly glide
By you, for once in your life, Without rhyme or reason?
Did life become a refreshing season?
Did I flood your lungs with fresh air,
As you got choked up from laughter?
Did you long to run your fingers through my hair?
Or to show me
just how much you care?
Was it because I was next to you,
That you walked a little taller,
Held your head a little higher?
Did you feel things differently?
Could even the sharpest of objects have become comfortable,
Did you believe anything was possible?
Could enduring any torture have been painless,
If it only meant that we,
Would be separated from each other less?
Did you see the world differently when you looked at me?
Did the sky look bluer,
The grass grow greener,
Were your cloudy days a bit brighter?
Was it like you saw colors for the first time?
Did you pray for a sign?
Did your sun, moon, and stars align,
To show you I was the right one?
Did your whole world flip upside down,
The day I was taken from your town?
Did you shed a single tear,
When you knew I was no longer near?
Did you cry to wash away,
The floods that drown me everyday?
Sir, do you even care;
Or still notice that I'm not there?
Were your letters intended for me,
Or some girl that never loved thee?
Please, I ask all this and one thing more,
Before all else is forgot.
Did you ever love me
Or did you not?
