I

DIE ON THIS HILL

DIE ON THIS HILL

This is unbalanced—

‎All the weight sits on me.

‎You’ve stolen my peace

‎while I stand there and watch.

‎And still…

‎I chose this place.

‎I prefer to stand on this hill,

‎loving you

‎more than I should.

‎I’m still here—

‎even if you don’t care,

‎even if I’m the only one

‎feeling anything real.

‎But I’ll take my pride,

‎hold it close,

‎and let it break quietly—

‎to stay.

‎I’m not blind—

‎I know this won’t work out for us.

‎I see it…

‎I feel it.

‎Still—

‎You take my love

‎and call it “friends.”

‎And somehow,

‎I let you.

‎So if this is where I fall,

‎If this is where it ends—

‎then let it be here…

‎loving you,

‎alone,

‎on this hill.
