Sometimes in life it takes a longer time period for people to figure out what they want to do, when a person is younger they dont fully understand life yet, prior to even know why they are here society pushes us to think we have to have it all put together but no, all of us are a works in progress sometime it might take a couple of year or even a decade but during that timeline learn everything you can aspire for more then you have today, its not going to be easy its going to be vary hard but have diligence and keep trying if you fail then learn from the mistakes and try a different way, It took Thomas Edison 1,000 errors constructing the light bulb to understand what mistakes he made, but he din't give up even though people din't believe in him and told him to give up he proceeded to continue.
He believed that he could, so what makes you any different?
