I stood before my heart and soul
With papers in my hand
A divorce from my feelings
Was the choice I had planned
For too long they had ruled me
Dictating every move
Leaving me lost and broken
In a constant emotional groove
So I took a pen and signed my name
To end this love affair
To free myself from their hold
And live without a care
No longer will they hurt me

Have power over all

To stand on my own two feet

And a sense of true retreat
So goodbye to my old feelings
