Do you care

Do you care?
Do you have a part
In the deepest emotions
Of my heart?

Life started long ago
When we were savages,
Running wild in the jungle,
When men wished
They could soar like an eagle.

Now we have planes
To fulfill our fantasies,
Leaving the wild behind
For the animals,
Building up our prophecies.

But do you care?
Do you still have a part?

We have come so far
From where we used to be.
Life has changed over time.
While the Earth bleeds,
Humans are filled with glee.

We build homes
Reaching high into the sky,
Clothed our naked bodies,
Rejoicing in this...Sweet seducing sigh.

We've even come so far
To build spacecraft,
Speedboats as well,
All to make life easier,
Forgetting nature's wrath.

So I ask...
Do you have a heart?

While making life easy,
We punish her trees,
Killing innocent creatures,
In exchange for wear,
Polluting her oceans and seas.
The Earth bleeds;

She is pained by her children.
Her waters are wasting away,
While her roots fade to ashes,
Yet you don't feel chagrin.

You can't stop to think,
She's fading slowly.
Her lands are without pastures;
You have damaged her,
Brought her lowly.

If you do care,
Then listen... hear!

Feel her pain.
We can't afford to lose her;
She's all we've got.
Let's cherish her,
Let deterrence to destruction be our plot.

Stop polluting her air,
Let the sun shine,
Save her animals and trees,
For future generations—
For yours and mine.

So show you care,
Play your part
In the deepest emotions
Of Mother Nature's heart.
