Down by the Lake

Her skin glistens in the calm water
She moves with refined strides
Her arms sink and rise
The water breaks and settles
My hazel eyes are locked onto perfection
I'm on the bank of a sleepless lake
From my position she is swimming towards me
Moments later she emerges from the crystalling water
My mind slows as I watch her pale body walk my direction
Ten steps away... Then five... Now few
She arrives at my location
My heart flutters and my cheeks flare
This feeling only last a blip
Her radiating presence passes by
I'm not even aknowledged
Her legs throttle to a full sprint
I turn enough to see her jump into another man's arms
I look away in an instant
A single tear wells up and falls down my sun burnt face
"How pitiful..." I whisper to myself
The day fades and night appears
I'm standing alone in the moonlit darkness
A resolution has been made
I look to where she embraced another man near hours ago
And say, "One day I'll get to know her name."
