Down by the river

Down by the river of living waters,
the angelic waters of grace and peace,
where heaven’s light gently hovers,
and weary souls find sweet release.
The river sings in sacred tones,
a melody not heard by man,
but felt within the spirit’s bones,
unfolding part of God’s great plan.
The angels wade with robes so white,
their voices blending with the stream,
each note a spark of holy light,
each ripple part of heaven’s dream.
The trees along the water bend,
in reverence to the King above,
and every breeze becomes a friend,
carrying whispers of His love.
The thirsty hearts who wander near,
draw close and take a healing sip,
their sorrowed cries begin to clear,
with joy now flowing from their lips.
Down by the river, still and wide,
God’s presence hovers, pure and strong,
and those who walk there side by side,
will find their hearts have known Him long.
So come, beloved, lay burdens low,
and meet Him where the waters flow.
The river of life runs deep and true,
and waits with open arms for you.
