Tonight

As you lay your head down on to your pillow

Let the words dance inside and start to flow

Rhymes, riddles, ideas of haiku and limericks

Some lyrics to your favourite songs that stick

Soon you

Drift away beside a waterfall, counting sheep

Streams are gently flowing, as you fall asleep

You'll be

Reciting passages in your mind, as you concede

Tired and exhausted, the night now complete

Thoughts of

Calming rivers, babbling brooks, a quote recalled

Sleeping now, imagination active, asleep sprawled
